Do you know what a neti pot is? Well, in simple terms… it’s a little tea pot that you use to pour warm water with salt into your nostril and it is supposed to clear your sinuses when suffering from a cold or allergies…see here.  Soooo, I’ve had a neti pot since we lived in California. Up until 2 days ago Nick had used his once and I had used mine a total of zero times. Umm…hellooo?! Ewww! It’s completely gross to have water go in one nostril and come out the other. No? Absolutely! I’ve proved it. I’ve been feeling under the weather since las Friday afternoon and finally on Sunday I couldn’t bare the pressure on my face anymore and I dug up my pot and shoved it up my nose. oh. it. was. weird. It feels like when you get water up your nose while in a pool or the ocean, but then it comes out of the other side…or your throat…or your eye. It’s cree-pyyy! It didn’t feel like it helped at all until the third day….I didn’t even realize it, but I was actually breathing! SUCCESS!! But, you know, I’m a little bit scared because there’s been a couple of deaths from bacteria in the water.  Being the paranoid/slight hypochondriac that I am…I boiled my water and let it cool down before using it of course. Pray to God nothing happens and that I get better.

Saben qué es un neti pot? Simplemente…es una teterita que se usa para pasar agua salada de una fosa nasal a otra y ayudar con las molestias de sinusitis….vean aquí.  Pues yo he tenido una neti pot desde que vivíamos en California.  Hasta hace 2 días Nick  había usado la suya una sola vez y yo la mía nunca.  Ummm…osea…es la cosa más asquerosa pasar agua de un orificio y que salga del otro lado, o no?!? Claro!! Pues como la ven…lo comprobé! Ja! Me había sentido super mal desde el viernes y el domingo ya estaba tan desesperada que busqué la teterita y que me la meto a la nariz! oh. cielos. se. sintió. horrible. Se siente como cuando te entra agua a la nariz en la alberca o la playa pero la sienten salir por la otra fosa nasal, la garganta o hasta los ojos. Horrible!!! Y claro ni siquiera sentí que ayudó hasta el tercer día cuando me dí cuenta que finalmente podía respirar! Éxito!!! Claro, estoy un poquitín asustada porque han habido muertos por la bacteria que hay en el agua.  Y como típica paranoica/media hipocondriaca herví mi agua y la dejé enfriar un poco antes de usarla. Ruéguenle a Dios que no me pase nada y que me mejore.
