What would you wear to the Oscars?

My day didn’t have the best start today….I only slept 4 hours and when I went to get gas this morning I totally spilled it down my leg and onto my shoes and also managed to splash my shirt.  Thankfully my leather jacket was gasoline free and I wasn’t wearing any fancy/super pretty shoes…just my Minnetonkas, but I reeked of gasoline!!! I had to go back home and shower all over again and scrub the smell off…it was kind of a nightmare. My day got better though…my lovely friend Annie bought me lunch and I got some pretty new stones at the gem faire that I can’t wait to play with!

Now I have dinner with friends in DTLA that I ‘m really looking forward to and hopefully a busy/productive work-filled weekend that will end with me watching the Oscars and eating some popcorn. I can’t wait!!  In preparation for this event I went pretend shopping at Bergdorf’s and…I found my top 3 picks for gowns I’d love to wear if I was actually attending…yes, yes…I’m daydreaming again!

{My absolute favorite: Zac Posen}

{Carmen Marc Valvo}

{Jason Wu: I just LOVE this color!}

What would you wear?  Have a lovely weekend!

Dinner and sneak peek….

Tonight I outdid myself with dinner.  Again I used my pasta machine only this time I made spinach pasta and for the first time ever I made pesto sauce.  And you know what? It was AMAZING! I added veggies because for some reason we’ve been skipping lately so I needed to add them!

On another subject I’ve been working on several new things…..hope you like them.  I’m hoping they’ll be up on Etsy this weekend.

Final Casting Project…

Well a week before Christmas was my last week of school and my final project was due.  It was a lot of work, but I managed to finish it and I love it!! I learned how to set the little stones and I’m very excited to use those in the future.  I think I may get an A in the class and that makes me really happy!!!

Theme: our profession. Since I don’t really work at the moment other than on my etsy shoppe I said my profession is: artist/jeweler/homemaker-housewife.

I made everything including the chain. The flower ring is removable so I can wear it on my finger and it represents the homemaker part. It’s a peony.

The palette…well a little obvious no?  and the balls are silver beads that I cast (originally 3 but didn’t work out); they represent the jeweler part.

Some before pics…..

Finished necklace….

I’m probably going to take it apart and just use the ring as a ring and re-position the beads on the necklace so I can actually wear it.  Otherwise it looks too artsy/school/projecty no?
