I’m super excited for The Great Gatsby finally coming out in theaters! Sooo when my friend told me that Prada had the costumes on display I immediately said I’d go with her. They are so incredibly beautiful that I can’t handle it! Why can’t we dress like this all the time?! They’re on display here in NYC until 5/12 before they head to Japan. Go. Admire. Now!

Estoy super emocionada por ver la pelÃcula The Great Gatsby! AsÃ que cuando mi amiga me contÃ³ que los disfraces estaban en exposiciÃ³n en Prada de inmediato le dije que iba con ella. Â Son tan preciosos que no lo puedo creer! Por quÃ© no nos vestimos de esa manera todo el tiempo?! Siguen en exposiciÃ³n aquÃ en NY hasta el domingo 12 antes de viajar a JapÃ³n. Vayan. Admiren. Ahora!

Also, I’m obsessed with all the shoes!!!! Ah y claro estoy obsesionada con todos los zapatos!!!

I have a VERY talented friend. Her name is Dara….her company is Preston & Olivia and she makes amazingly beautiful things. Â And by things I mean hair accessories….as in veils for brides, pretty head bands and halos and now: HATS!! Hats are her true passion although her bridal collections are beautiful…I personally think hats are her calling. Â I’m completely in love with her hats and I’ve had the privilege of being a part of this collection (hearing about it and seeing it) since the beginning. Also my talented husband is involved in the making of the “Behind the scenes” video of her lookbook shoot (which her photographer husband shot). Â Be prepared for something extraordinary! Around this time last year I was wishing I was in NYC for the FNO event. Â This year it was last week and since we live here we obviously went out. Sadly I’d had my first really, really bad day at work thus I was in party pooper mood all evening. Â I’d like to apologize to my dear friend Dara for this, I know you were really looking forward to it. Â Al rededor de estas fechas el aÃ±o pasado, estaba deseando estar en NY para el evento de Fashion’s Night out (FNO). Â Este aÃ±o fue la semana pasado, y como vivimos aquÃ fuimos parte de la gran noche. Â Desafortunadamente fue mi primer dÃa horroroso en el trabajo y no estaba de humor para andar por todas parte. Â Le quiero pedir disculpas a mi amiguita Dara porque se que ella de verdad morÃa por ir.

We did manage to go to the following places/Por lo menos nos tocÃ³ ir a los siguientes lugares:

1. DVF (meatpacking)

2. Phaidon store (soho)

3. Billy Reid

4. Osklen

….and 1 other place I don’t remember (next to DVF). Â The highlight of my night you ask?? The L.A. taco truck that was in the meatpacking district (don’t remember the name) that had 2 mini tacos for $1.69 with a free soda. Needless to say, it really wasn’t what I was expecting ….first because I wasn’t really in the mood and second because I really don’t like mobs and this whole night was about giant mobs of people everywhere (for those that don’t know, FNO kicks off the start of fashion week). Â At the moment I have no desire to do it again next year, but we’ll see how I feel then!

….fuimos a una tienda mÃ¡s pero no recuerdo el nombre (en seguida de DVF). Â Lo mejor de mi noche fueron los tacos que nos encontramos a 2 por $1.69 son la soda gratis. Â Obvio, la noche no fue lo que yo esperaba….primero porque no tenÃa ganas y en segundo porque no me incomodan las multitudes y esta noche de eso se trata…miles de gentes por todas partes (para los que no saben, FNO es el comienzo de Fashion Week). Â Por el momento no me quedaron ganas de volverlo a hacer el aÃ±o que entra, pero veremos como me siento entonces!

So we are officially obsessed with Mad Men. Â Have you guys seen it?? We just finished catching up with the last season and can’t wait until the next one starts next year. Â We were a bit slow to get into it, but now we’re completely hooked. Â A friend of mine is trying to get a walk on role on the show and has asked for some help. Â The contest goes until September 25 and you can vote once a day until then. Â You have to sign up for an account which is pretty dumb, but hey…it would really help her out. Â I just signed up my junk email that I normally use for such things. Â Please won’t you help her?! Pretty pleaseeee with sugar and a cherry on top!?! I promise you she’s awesome and the cutest one out of all of them. Â If you click HERE (or the picture or the caption) it will take you to the page. Â Ok…oficialmente estamos obsesionados con el programa Mad Men. Â Lo han visto?? Nosotros acabamos de terminar la Ãºltima temporada y estamos listos para la siguiente que empieza el aÃ±o que entra. Â Nos tomo un rato en gustar, pero ahora estamos como ya dije: obsesionados. Â Una de mis amigas esta tratando de ganar un concurso y el premio es que serÃ¡ extra en el programa y necesita de su ayuda. Â El concurso termina el 25 de septiembre y se puede votar una vez al dÃa hasta entonces. Â Lo malo es que se tiene uno que registrar con esa pÃ¡gina, pero le estarÃan haciendo un mega favor a mi amiguita (y claro a mÃ). Â Yo me registre con un email que uso solo para estas ocasiones y asi no me molestan. Â Por fa la ayudan?? Porfissss? Les prometo que es la mejor de todas y es la mas guapa tambiÃ©n. A perfect ending to the week…

{Movie snacks. Botanitas para la pelÃcula.}

It’s been quite a week over on this coast. Â First we get hit with a “devastating earthquake” and now to finish we are on hurricane warning. It’s the perfect ending to my first week of work!!! I’m not complaining or anything. Â I had a perfectly lovely week that included our attendance to the very last of the summer movies at Bryant Park and some much needed shopping with my awesome new working-girl discount! I even got a couple of my faves from last week (including the cute little bow belt: a congratulatory gift from the hubs for getting a job. Â Isn’t he just the sweetest?!). Â On more important news (for those that are worried)…we’ve stocked up on water, some canned food,a couple of saint candles and we’ll be getting some ice and extra batteries for flash lights Â just in case. Â Bring it on Irene!! Â Hemos tenido una semana llena de sorpresas en este lado del mundo. Â Empezamos la semana con un temblor devastador y para cerrar con broche de oro estamos esperando un huracÃ¡n. Â Un final perfecto para mi primera semana de trabajo!!! Â No me estoy quejando ni nada. Â Tuve una semana espectacular: alcanzamos la Ãºltima pelÃcula del verano en el parque y me toco ir de compras con mi nuevo descuento de trabajadora. Â Hasta me comprÃ© unas de mis cosas favoritasÂ que les compartÃ laÂ semana pasada (incluyendo el cintito del moÃ±o que mi esposito me diÃ³ como regalo por haber conseguido trabajo. Â Es el mejor no?!) Â Cambiando de tema a lo mÃ¡s importante (para los que estan preocupados por nosotros)….estamos listos…ya compramos agua, comida enlatada y unas cuantas velas y compraremos baterÃas y hielo maÃ±ana. Â Irene, te estamos esperando!!

I can’t tell you how excited we are to go to the Bi-Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party this weekend. Â We were so bummed when we missed it at the end of June, but not this time!! Â We got tickets and will be going with some friends for the second one. I can’t wait! No saben lo emocionados que estamos de ir al Bi-Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party este fin. Â Nos perdimos la de junio, pero esta vez no!!! Ya compramos nuestros boletos e iremos con unos amiguitos! Que emociÃ³nnnn!!!!

I’m a part timer!

{From Kate Spade. Is this not drool worthy? De Kate Spade. Si o no es para caerse la baba?)

After months of job hunting without any luck, I decided it was time to get a retail job (it was totally needed at the house of Bowser). Â And I’m happy and grateful to say that I got one (Thank you Lord!! and thank you to all of you that were praying for me!!). It’s only part time, but that means it gives me a chance to possibly get a second one. Despues de meses de buscar trabajo sin suerte, decidÃ que era tiempo de encontrar un trabajo en una tienda (era completamente necesario en la casa de los Bowser). Â Y estoy muy contenta y agradecida al decirles que encontrÃ© uno (Gracias a Dios!! y gracias a todos los que oraron por mÃ!!). Solo es de medio tiempo, pero eso quiere decir que puedo buscar otro. Â

Last week when I went in for resume drop offs and interviews I couldn’t believe my eyes with all the pretty things out there. Â Here are some of my favorites (you will notice a couple of things: 1) I drool over glitter or pretty much anything that shimmers; 2) I’m coo-coo for leopard prints, I always have been; and 3) Shoes are my favorite!). La semana pasada cuando fuÃ a dejar mi curriculum y a entrevistas no podÃa creer las cosas tan bellas que tenÃan. Â Aqui les van unas de mis favoritas (como verÃ¡n se me cae la baba por cualquier cosa que brille y me encantan todo lo leopardo y por Ãºltimo mi accesorio favorito son los zapatos!).
