The last couple of weeks have been amazing here. Perfect weather you can wear a light jacket in and no more snow !! It looks like spring has finally decided to stay.  Yesterday we went for a walk and all around we found small clusters of life in between the the bare trees and dead leaves. Ahh finally our favorite has arrived.

Las últimas dos semanas han sido increíbles.  Clima perfecto en el que sólo se necesita una chamarrita ligera y no más nieve!! Parece que la primavera finalmente decidió quedarse.  Ayer fuimos a caminar y nos encontramos con ramitos de flores for doquier entre todos los árboles secos. Ahhh finalmente nuestra favorita ha llegado.

2011 NYC Marathon

Last Sunday was the NYC marathon and we went to central park to cheer the runners for a couple of hours.  It’s so awesome to see all the people that show up to support and cheer the runners. I get even more excited though when I see all my fellow country peeps participating in the race! Go México! Also…we saw some pretty funny signs and costumes. El domingo pasado fue el maratón de NY y fuimos al parque unas cuantas horas a hecharles porras a los corredores.  Es tan padre ver a toda la gente que viene a apoyar y hecharles porras a los corredores.  Y me emociono muchísimo cuando veo a los corredores mexicanos! Vamos México! Claro, también vimos unas cartulinas y  unos disfraces super chistosos.

My birthday week.

Last week I celebrated my birthday! And to help me, my mother and my aunt flew in for a visit.  It was so good to see them and so fun to show them around our town.   This was my aunt’s first visit to the city and she loved it!

La semana pasada celebré mi cumpleaños!! Y mi mamá y mi tía vinieron a ayudarme. Fué super divertido andar por todas partes y me dió muchísimo gusto verlas a las dos.  Mi tía nunca había venido a NYC y le ecantó!!

Music in the Park

{I heart NY}

Last thursday night Andrea Bocelli had a concert in the park. For FREEEEE! We couldn’t believe it!! So we decided to wander into the park to at least sit nearby and listen, but were surprised when we got there to find everything blocked and learn that you still needed a ticket even though it was free. boooo….we were already late (due to my super late departure from work!) so we figured we’d be able to find somewhere to sneak in through. Aaaannnd we were right!!! We managed to find a spot to stand and were delighted to catch the 2 people I was excited for (other than Andrea of course!): Celine Dion AND Tony Bennett!!!UH-MAAA-ZINGGG!!! Celine and Andrea sang their duet song that I absolutely love and Tony and him sang what else but New York, New York!! Sooo soo good!!! He sang Italian classics and of course Con te Partirò!! Have you seen him in concert? He’s absolutely flawless! Anyway…we also spotted a couple of famous peeps…..mr. Trump as he was leaving and funny lady Caroline Rhea! It was such a fun night, wish you could’ve been there!

El jueves pasado Andrea Bocelli estuvo en concierto en Central Park. GRATISSSSS!! No lo podíamos creer!! Así que decidimos ir y por lo menos sentarnos en una banquita a escucharlo, pero cuando llegamos nos topamos con que todo estaba rodeado de policías y completamente bloqueado.  Y aparte necesitabamos boleto a pesar de que era gratis. Buuuu……ya ibamos tarde (porque salí tardísimo del trabajo!) así que pensamos que lograríamos de alguna manera entrar. Yyyyyy lo logramos!!! Encontramos un lugarcito para pararnos y ver el resto del concierto y nos alegramos muchísimo porque alcanzamos a ver a las dos personas que moríamos por ver (aparte de Andrea claro!): Celine Dion Y Tony Bennet!! IN-CRE-ÍBLEEEEE!!! Celine y Andrea cantaron su dueto y con Tony cantó New York, New York por su puesto!! Tan, tan buen show!! Tambien canto canciones italianas clásicas y claro Con te Partirò!! Lo han visto en concierto? Es buenísimo!! Ah sí… y tambien vimos a unos famosos….Donald Trump al retirarse y a la chistosa Caroline Rhea! Fue una noche super divertida, nos hubiera gustado que nos acompañaran!
