{Mojito}

Better late than never right? Mejor tarde que nunca no?

AWKWARD/TORPE:

1. Running around town with a big black smudge on the side of your nose without knowing what it was or for how long. And nobody said anything!!! Do you know how many stores I went into??? Corriendo por toda la ciudad con una mancha negra al lado de mi nariz sin saber que era y desde cuando. Y nadie me dijo nada!!! Saben a cuantas tiendas fuí???
2. While we’re on the embarrassing subject…running around town with one of your dress buttons popping open every time you move in a weird way. Good thing I had a tank top underneath. Siguiendo con el tema de la vergüenza….corriendo por toda la ciudad con uno de los botones de mi vestido abriendose cada vez que me muevo. Lo bueno que traía una blusita de tirantes abajo.
3. Because it’s been really really hot here, I constantly look like I’ve been in the sauna for the last half hour. I continually have to wipe my forehead and I’m the girl that carries a hand fan in her purse at all times (which was also a popular subject at the 4th of July party we attended). Thank God my deodorant has been working like magic the last few days! Como ha estado haciendo un calorón aqui, constantemente parece que acabo de salir del sauna. No saben la cantidad de veces que me tengo que limpiar el sudor de la frente y ahora soy la chava que carga con un avanico de mano en la bolsa (que fué el tema de conversación más popular en la fiesta que fuimos el 4 de juilo). Gracias a Dios mi desodorante ha estado funcionando de maravilla!
4. Having old guys check you out in a really creepy way. Viejos libidinosos hechándome el ojo.

AWESOME/INCREÍBLE:

1. We got our couch YAYYYYY!! Nos llegó nuestro sofa YEIIIII!!!!!!
2. Our place is starting to resemble a home! Nuestro depa finalmente empieza a parecer un hogar!
3. Delicious and refreshing drinks made by my own personal bartender! ha! Bebidas deliciosas y refrescantes hechas por mi camarero personal! ja!
4. We discovered new unbelievably amazing cheeses at the little market by us. Descubrimos unos quesos increíbles en el mercadito a la vuelta de la casa.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!!

{Baked brie with the help of Christmas gifts.  Thanks mama B and brother and sister-in-law! Brie horneado gracias a la ayuda de mis regalitos de Navidad. Gracias a mamá B y a mis cuñaditos!}

It’s that day again kids! THURSDAY!!! Chicos! Es JUEVES otra vez!!!!

AWKWARD/TORPE:

* A five year old kid in the subway “shooting” at me gangsta style. You know the way…with the two fingers sideways. Anyway…also giving me the stinkeye!! Actually that’s not awkward…that’s just saaaad!! Un niñito de cinco años en el metro “disparandome” al estilo gangster.  Tu sabes como…con los dos dedos y la mano volteada.  Ah si y hechandome una mirada fea!! Retiro lo dicho…eso no es torpe, es super triste!!

* My new driver’s license picture. Ok…it’s more horrible than awkward. La foto de mi nueva licencia.  Bueno….es más horrible que torpe.

* A sales person at a flea market saying “I can give it to you for ten!”. Price tag: $10. What a deal no? haha we feel special. Un vendedor en el tianguis diciendo “te lo puedo dar a diez!”. El precio: $10. Super ganga no? jaja nos hizo sentir super especiales.

AWESOME/INCREÍBLE:

* Internet at home!!! yep!!! I have it!! The awesome hubs called and we got it a week early.  Internet en casa!!! si señores!!! ya lo tengo!!! My esposito lindo hablo y consiguió que lo conectaran una semana antes.

* Yayyy, finally temperatures higher than 50° F!!! Yeiii, finalmente temperaturas arriba de 10°C!!!

* Baked brie, nothing more to say.  Brie horneado, no necesito decir nada más.

AWKWARD/TORPE:

* A dirty, bearded, drunk man offering us a joint in the parking lot of a liquors store in Arkansas.  He said it would make our road trip better. WHaaaaaT?!? hahaha. Un viejito, barbón y borracho nos ofreció mota en el estacionamiento de una licorería en Akansas. Nos dijo que haría nuestro viaje más padre. QUeeeeeÉ? jajaja

* Albuquerque, NM. Nothing more to say. Albuquerque, NM. No tengo nada más que decir.

* A crazy real estate broker barking orders at his two assistants while we were sitting in front of him (discussing apartments). What do you do when that happens? I was so embarrased for the guys. I wanted to leave. SOooooo uncomfortable!! El agente con el que estabamos hablando sobre departamentos les gritaba ordenes a sus dos asistentes enfrente de nosotros. Que se hace cuando eso pasa!? Me dieron tanta lástima los pobres.  Me quería ir!! Super super incómodo ese momento.

* Sooo, we’re looking for apartments and meeting with at least 5 people a day viewing 2-4 apartments with each one. Wellll, today we accidentally saw the same place TWICE!!!! hahaha….not just that it was back to back! We couldn’t believe it. We didn’t have the heart to tell the second person that we had just seen it because he’d been downtown. Soo we just walked around AGAIN and pretended it was the first time and told him it wouldn’t work for us. He’s showing us more places tomorrow. Ok, andamos buscando departamentos y viendonos con al menos 5 agentes al día y viendo de 2-4 lugares por agente.  Puessss, hoy accidentalmente fuimos a ver uno DOS VECES!!! jajaja…..una tras otra!!! No lo podíamos creer. Como vino desde un poquito lejos, no tuvimos el corazón para decirle al cuate que lo acababamos de ver. Asi que lo vimos por segunda vez y le hicimos al loco mientras el esperaba.  Nos va a enseñar otros dos mañana.

AWESOME/INCREÍBLE:

* Finally got out of OC. Finalmente nos salimos de OC.

* Aaaannd….. We’re in NY! YYYYyyy….Estamos en NY!

* A banana playing the stand up base and a skunk with a pink scarf playing the xylophone in the subway. They were playing cartoon songs.  Un plátano tocando el bajo y un zorrillo con bufanda rosa tocando el xilófono en el metro. Estaban tocando canciones de caricaturas.

* My awesome husband making me laugh all day long through this tough apartment hunting process.  He’s so cute! My esposito increíble haciendome reír todo el día durante este largo proceso de encontrar departamento. Es tan lindo!!

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

{Sprinkles cupcakes: 2 for each & Sparkling wine…the cheap stuff. We’re classy that way! Cupcackes de Sprinkles: 2 para cada uno & vinito espumante….del baratito. Ya saben que somos super elegantiosos!}

 

Again, I apologize for my absence, but guess what day it is?? It’s….Thursday!!! That’s right, almost Friday and awkward and awesome day!

Una vez mas, mil disculpas por mi ausencia, pero adivinen que día es? Es….Jueves!!! Así es, casi viernes y Jueves increíble y torpe!

AWKWARD:

* People close to you calling on your birthday, but not really calling to wish you a happy day.  Just asking for a favor.

* Family drama.

* Some guy dropping off his phone number, on a piece of his receipt, in front of your friend (who’s taken btw) as he’s walking out of the restaurant with a VERY proud look on his face! Like he’s done something GREAT! HILARIOUS!

* Having nothing to eat or drink (other than water, popcorn and bread) because we don’t have a fridge anymore! We didn’t think about the fact that I like milk in my coffee!! ha!

* Fecal specimen kit. Do I really need to say more? NO, but I will….the title is not the worse part. It comes with 2 little cards and a brush. YOU figure it out! Oh and you MAIL it!! How awkward/SICK is that?! Especially for the person handling the mail…..

TORPE:

* Gente cercana a ti que te habla el día de tu cumple y ni siquiera te felicita. Solo te pide un favor.

* Drama familiar.

* Un fulano dejándole su numero de telefono a tu amiga (que tiene novio), escrito en parte de su recibo, al salir orgullosamente del restaurante.  Como si hubiera hecho algo grandioso! CHISTOSÍSIMO!

* No tener nada de comer o beber (aparte de agua, palomitas y pan) porque ya no tenemos refri! No pensamos en que a mi me gusta el cafe con leche! ja!

* Kit para muestra fecal. Necesito elaborar? NO, pero lo voy a hacer…..el nombre no es lo peor.  Te dan dos tarjetitas y una brocha! Imagínate como funciona!! Ah sí y se manda por CORREO!!!! Que HORROR para la persona que maneja el correo…….

AWESOME:

* Birthday celebration for husband with cupcakes and sparkling wine!!! BEST combo in the world!

* Forgiveness.

* 4 more days until we leave!

* Mani/Pedis….AMAZING!!! There’s something about sitting on that massage chair and reading gossipy magazines that I absolutely LOVE!

* Getting rid of our fridge and table! Thanks mother and brother!! Love you!!!

INCREÍBLE:

* Celebración del cumpleaños de mi esposito con cupcakes y vino espumante!!! La MEJOR combinación del mundo!

* Perdonar.

* 4 días más y nos vamos!

* Manicure/Pedicure….super INCREÍBLE!!! Hay algo del sentarse en una silla de masaje leyendo revistas de chismes que me ENCANTA!!!

* Deshacernos de nuestro refri y la mesa.  Gracias madre y hermanito!! Los quiero!!

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!!

{doggie I met at the Trader Joe’s “tasting room”…her name is Hadie. She was cute but a little awkard! Una perrita que concocí en la “sala de degustación” de Trader Joe’s….se llama Hadie.  Linda pero un poquitín torpe}

I found this super cute blog by Sydney and she has a funny segment she does every Thursday called “Awkward and Awesome Thursdays” and I thought I’d give it a try.  Here’ is my first…..

Me encontré un blog super lindo de una chica que se llama Sydney y escribe un segmento cada Jueves llamado “Jueves Increíble y Torpe” y se me ocurrió que estaría padre intentarlo.  Aquí va mi primero….

AWKWARD:

* RSVP-ing for an event only to realize a few weeks later that the event was the year before. Yup. I just did that.

* Shopping for tool boxes at home depot by yourself and realizing your zipper has been down and you don’t even know for how long. The previous stop was Walmart (I probably blended right in).

* Tripping on a box and flying across the room while helping husband carry a couch.

* People inviting themselves to events….when they were obviously not invited.

* I’m sitting on a beach chair in my living room surrounded by walls of boxes as I type this. yep! I’m classy like that. (Nick thinks this belongs in the Awesome part)

AWESOME:

* The way the hubs smells right after a shower. It’s pretty dreamy.

* The first bite of a ridiculously amazing burger. And then the next bite.

* Selling our bed!!! yayyy!!

* “Spring cleaning” while packing! It feels so good to get rid of things you really don’t need.

* The countdown has begun for our cross-country road trip adventure!!! 11 days to go!!!

* Wine tasting at Trader Joe’s.

TORPE:

* Confirmar para un evento y darte cuenta dos semanas despues que el evento fue el año pasado. Sip. Lo acabo de hacer.

* Estar de compras sola en Home Depot buscando una caja para herramientas y darte cuenta que traes la bragueta abierta y quien sabe desde cuando.  Tu última parada fue Walmart.

* Tropezarte con una caja y volar al otro lado del cuarto mientras intentas ayudarle a tu esposo a mover un sillón.

* Gente que se invita a tu evento….cuando obviamente no fue invitada.

* Estoy sentada en una silla de playa en mi sala mientras escribo esto. Sip. Soy super elegante! (Nick piensa que esto debe ir en lo increíble)

INCREÍBLE:

* El olor de mi esposito cuando sale de bañarse. Delicioso!

* La primer mordida de una hamburguesa increíble.  Y después la siguiente.

* Vendimos nuestra cama!!! Yeiiiiii!!

* Hacer limpieza de cosas/casa mientras empacas la mudanza.  Se siente tan bien deshacerte de cosas que no ocupas!!

* Comienza el conteo para nuestro viaje al otro lado del país.  11 días más!!

* Probar vinitos en Trader Joe’s
