As I had mentioned nick wasn’t here for our anniversary plus his birthday was a couple of weeks ago so we took a trip last week to celebrate both. We decided to go to Savannah, GA to get away from frigid air and get some delicious southern food in our bellies. But before the traveling, we celebrated here with a nice relaxing day of coffee à la frenchie, mexican food, a brisk walk in the park, a lovely dinner at Locanda Verde, drinks with friends at the Dead Rabbit and finished off our very late night with a homeless lady pugging a bottle of international delight coffee creamer and some funfetti coconut cake at home in our pjs. Como ya les habÃa mencionado Nico no estuvo aquà para nuestro aniversario aparte de que fue su cumpleaños hace dos semanas, asi que la semana pasada celebramos los dos.  Decidimos irnos a Savannah, GA a  disfrutar de temperaturas más cálidas y a llenar nuestras pancitas con la rica comida sureña.  Pero antes de viajar celebramos aquà con un dÃa muy relajante de cafecito a la francesa, antojitos mexicanos, un paseo muy frÃo al parque, una cenita rica en Locanda Verde, bebidas con amigos en Dead Rabbit y terminamos la  noche ya muy tarde con una pobre viejita en el tren empinandose una botella de crema para cafe y un pastelito en casa en nuestras pijamas.
Now, on to the trip. Â Ahora a nuestro viaje.Â
Did you know that Savannah is the  dreamiest little town? The buildings, the colors the trees….all beautiful! Although….from my pictures I guess my favorite were the trees. We walked all over and even headed to the beach to enjoy some sun. Oh and we really did have some extra yummy food. Our bellies are extremely happy.  SabÃan que Savanna es el pueblito mas lindo? Los edificios, los colores, los árboles….todos preciosos! Aunque….viendo mis fotos parece que mis favoritos fueron los árboles. Caminamos por todas partes y hasta nos fuimos a la playa a disfrutar el solecito rico.  Ah y claro, en realidad si disfrutamos de mucha comida muuuyyy rica. La pancita está bien contenta.
We started our food endeavors with the green truck pub where one can find everything is made in house. They make their own dressings, ketchup, pecan pie, pimento cheese, etc. If you go have the pimento cheese burger and you must try the pecan pie….my mouth is watering just thinking about them.  Empezamos nuestras aventuras de comida con el pub de la camioneta verde donde uno encuentra que todo lo que pueden lo hacen en casa.  Hacen sus propios aderezos, catsup, pastel de nuez, queso con pimiento, etc.  Si van pidan la hamburguesa con el queso pimiento y tienen que probar el pastel de nuez….uuufff la boca se me hace agua nada más de pensar en ellos.
This was our all you can eat southern meal at Mrs. Wilkes dining room. Not the world’s best food and you eat with strangers, but it was still solid good food and for only $18 including tax, sweet tea and dessert you really can’t beat it. I mean, who doesn’t love to stuff their face?  Esta fue nuestra comida tÃpica sureña en la casa de la Sra. Wilkes.  No es la mejor comida del mundo y se come con extraños, pero muy rica de todas formas y por $18 incluyendo impuesto, bebida y postre, no se pueden quejar.  Digo, a quien no le gusta comer a más no poder?
