Spring time wanderings

IMG_7349Spring is one of our favorite times to spend in the city. We always make time to go for walks as soon as spring-like weather shows up, yet there never seems to be enought time for us to be able to go all over the city to gawk at all the pretty trees. Fortunately for us we live a couple of blocks from Central Park where we can always find them. Last month we made sure we made time to specifically go look at our favorite blooms and it was so worth it. Don’t you agree?

La primavera es uno de nuestros tiempos favoritos para disfrutar en NYC.  Siempre nos aseguramos de tener tiempo para ir a caminar en cuanto el clima cambia, pero parece que nunca hay suficiente para poder ir por toda la ciudad a ver todos los lindos árboles. Afortunadamente vivimos solo a unas cuadras de Central Park donde siempre los podemos encontrar. El mes pasado planeamos una tarde para ir específicamente a ver nuestras flores favoritas y la verdad valió la pena esforzarnos. No lo creen?

Spring, is that you?….finally?

The last couple of weeks have been amazing here. Perfect weather you can wear a light jacket in and no more snow !! It looks like spring has finally decided to stay.  Yesterday we went for a walk and all around we found small clusters of life in between the the bare trees and dead leaves. Ahh finally our favorite has arrived.

Las últimas dos semanas han sido increíbles.  Clima perfecto en el que sólo se necesita una chamarrita ligera y no más nieve!! Parece que la primavera finalmente decidió quedarse.  Ayer fuimos a caminar y nos encontramos con ramitos de flores for doquier entre todos los árboles secos. Ahhh finalmente nuestra favorita ha llegado.

This week we received a last minute surprise invite to come up to New Hampshire and visit family so we jumped at the chance and drove up.  It’s such a pleasure and to get away from everyday life even if just for a day.  We had such a fun time getting to know the area and just spending time with our hosts.  Thank you Terry and Rita for a wonderful time! We love you!

Esta semana recibimos una invitación de última hora para ir a visitar a familia que estaba en New Hampshire y obvio que nos lanzamos de inmediato a verlos.  Es un placer salir de la ciudad y alejarse de la vida diaria aunque sea por un día.  Nos divertimos tanto conociendo el área y visitando con nuestros huéspedes! Mil gracias Terry y Rita por todo! Los queremos mucho!

Life lately

I love when we have visitors…especially when it’s not their first time because they don’t feel the need to go around all over the place to visit the sites and we don’t have the pressure to be tour guides.  Don’t get me wrong, if you’ve been here before we’ll probably still visit SOME sites, but you’ll just get to experience the more local feel of the land.  A couple of weeks ago Nick’s parents came and we spent our time trying new restaurants, going back to favorites and had great weather for a couple of picnics in the park.  It was lovely! Thanks mama and papa B for visiting us it was so much fun! Can’t wait for you to come again!

Me encanta cuando amigos o familia nos vienen a visitar….especialmente cuando no es la primera vez que vienen y no quieren ir a ver todo lo “típico NY” y no sentimos la obligación de ser guías de turistas. No se preocupen, esto no quiere decir que nunca iremos con ustedes a las áreas turísticas, sólo que les va a tocar conocer la ciudad como nosotros la conocemos.  Hace unas semanas nos visitaron los papás de Nico y nos pasamos el tiempo probando nuevos restaurantes, regresando a los favoritos y hasta tuvimos buen clima para ir de picnic un par de veces.  Nos la pasamos tan agusto! Gracias a mamá y papá B por visitarnos! Los esperamos para la próxima!

Spring officially started yesterday and it does not look like it here, it’s still so cold! So I decided to create spring in my home. Thank you Trader Joe’s for the cutest little bunch of daffodils. They were only $1.50, go get some!

Ayer oficialmente empezó la primavera, pero por estos rumbos ni se nota, sigue haciendo un frío horrible! Así que decidí traerla a mi casita.  Gracias Trader Joe’s por los narcisos tan lindos que compré. Sólo a $1.50, no se los pierdan!

Le weekend and until we meet again!

My heart is saddened as I write this. Last night we said farewell to some of our dearest friends.  They hit us about a month ago with the news that they were moving out of the city for work reasons….and while all of us (including them) understand that they have to be responsible and grown up about it, it SUCKS! They are the people we hang out with the most and it’s going to be lonely without them.  We love you and we will miss you terribly!

Estoy super triste! Anoche nos despedimos de unos de nuestros mejores amigos. Nos aventaron la bomba de que se mudaban hace como un mes por razones de trabajo….y pues aunque entendemos que tienen que ser adultos responsables, no queremos que se vayan!!! Son los amigos con los que nos juntamos todo el tiempo y no va a ser lo mismo sin ellos.  Los queremos y los extrañaremos muchísimo!

On other news I have quite a few projects to work on this weekend so hopefully that will keep me somewhat busy.  Hope you have a lovely weekend….I’ll be hanging out with these guys!

Cambiando de tema tengo varios proyectos planeados para este fin y espero que me mantengan ocupada. Espero que tengan un buen fin de semana!
