I love when we have visitors…especially when it’s not their first time because they don’t feel the need to go around all over the place to visit the sites and we don’t have the pressure to be tour guides. Don’t get me wrong, if you’ve been here before we’ll probably still visit SOME sites, but you’ll just get to experience the more local feel of the land. A couple of weeks ago Nick’s parents came and we spent our time trying new restaurants, going back to favorites and had great weather for a couple of picnics in the park. It was lovely! Thanks mama and papa B for visiting us it was so much fun! Can’t wait for you to come again!
Me encanta cuando amigos o familia nos vienen a visitar….especialmente cuando no es la primera vez que vienen y no quieren ir a ver todo lo “típico NY” y no sentimos la obligación de ser guías de turistas. No se preocupen, esto no quiere decir que nunca iremos con ustedes a las áreas turísticas, sólo que les va a tocar conocer la ciudad como nosotros la conocemos. Hace unas semanas nos visitaron los papás de Nico y nos pasamos el tiempo probando nuevos restaurantes, regresando a los favoritos y hasta tuvimos buen clima para ir de picnic un par de veces. Nos la pasamos tan agusto! Gracias a mamá y papá B por visitarnos! Los esperamos para la próxima!

I’m super excited for The Great Gatsby finally coming out in theaters! Sooo when my friend told me that Prada had the costumes on display I immediately said I’d go with her. They are so incredibly beautiful that I can’t handle it! Why can’t we dress like this all the time?! They’re on display here in NYC until 5/12 before they head to Japan. Go. Admire. Now!

Spring officially started yesterday and it does not look like it here, it’s still so cold! So I decided to create spring in my home. Thank you Trader Joe’s for the cutest little bunch of daffodils. They were only $1.50, go get some!
Ayer oficialmente empezó la primavera, pero por estos rumbos ni se nota, sigue haciendo un frío horrible! Así que decidí traerla a mi casita. Gracias Trader Joe’s por los narcisos tan lindos que compré. Sólo a $1.50, no se los pierdan!

My heart is saddened as I write this. Last night we said farewell to some of our dearest friends. They hit us about a month ago with the news that they were moving out of the city for work reasons….and while all of us (including them) understand that they have to be responsible and grown up about it, it SUCKS! They are the people we hang out with the most and it’s going to be lonely without them. We love you and we will miss you terribly!
Estoy super triste! Anoche nos despedimos de unos de nuestros mejores amigos. Nos aventaron la bomba de que se mudaban hace como un mes por razones de trabajo….y pues aunque entendemos que tienen que ser adultos responsables, no queremos que se vayan!!! Son los amigos con los que nos juntamos todo el tiempo y no va a ser lo mismo sin ellos. Los queremos y los extrañaremos muchísimo!
On other news I have quite a few projects to work on this weekend so hopefully that will keep me somewhat busy. Hope you have a lovely weekend….I’ll be hanging out with these guys!

So I’m taking french classes yet again and so is the hubs! Oui, oui!! We’re so excited and loving our classes. After last week’s class we had a little date at our new favorite place Buvette that doubled as our Valentine’s day celebration. We don’t really go all out it since it’s so close to our anniversary, but we usually celebrate it one way or another and I do always get flowers. This time it was with a delicious little lunch! It was such a treat and wish we could make it a weekly thing after our class. Someday maybe!
Una vez más estoy tomando clases de francés y Nico también. Oui, oui!! Estamos super emocionados y nos encantan nuestras clases. La semana pasada después de mi clase nos vimos en un lugarcito francés que se llama Buvette para celebrar el día de san Valentín. En realidad nunca lo celebramos en grande porque sólo es una semana después de nuestro aniversario pero siempre hacemos algo y siempre me sorprenden con flores. Esta vez disfrutamos de una comida deliciosa que me encantaría que fuera cada semana después de nuestra clase.

Four years ago last thursday the 7th I married this guy! And to celebrate we took a quick trip down to Tulum with some miles we had stored and relaxed for a few days! It really was hard to come back…..if it hadn’t been for those darn mosquitos that just chase me all over we may have stayed down there. El jueves pasado 7 de febrero se cumplieron 4 años de que me casé con este hombre! Y para celebrar nos tomamos unos días y nos fuimos a Tulum con unas millas que teníamos guardadas y a relajarnos! No saben lo difícil que fue regresar….si no hubiera sido por esos mugres mosquitos que me siguen por todas partes puede que nos hubieramos quedado!
