It’s that time again….time for us to find a new place!!! We decided not to renew our lease at our current apartment for a few reasons so we’ve been busy little apartment hunters the last couple of weeks.We might have stumbled upon a keeper yesterday so please be praying. Don’t worry though, we did find a little time to relax last night and continue celebrating Nick’s birthday.We went to see Newsies (such a GREAT show! they are all incredible!!!) and went to our favorite little gem of an Italian restaurant: MERCATO and had the best meal. It was such a nice treat. I keep telling him it’s definitely so much better to stretch out your birthday this way…am I right?? Ha llegado el momento de mudarnos una vez más!! Hemos decidido no quedarnos en nuestro depa por varias razones y las últimas dos semanas hemos andado como loquitos buscando uno nuevo. Puede ser que ayer encontramos uno así que porfa oren por nosotros. No se preocupen, nos hemos divertido un poquito. El miércoles continuamos celebrando el cumpelaños de Nick y fuimos a ver Newsies (que por cierto esta buenísimo el show…todos los actores cantan increíble!!!) y fuimos a cenar a nuestra joyita italiana: MERCATO y disfrutamos de la cenita más rica. Fue una noche super agradable. Le sigo diciendo a Nick que es la mejor manera de celebrar los cumpleaños…estirándolos hasta que ya no se pueda…o no??
P.S If we get that apartment there’s gonna be some pink bathroom action going on. Yep. Tiles and sink. P.D Quiero que sepan que si nos dan el depa habrá algo color rosa….si señores y señoras…el baño…con todo y el sink y el azulejo.

Well folks, it’s official. We have been here an ENTIRE year and it’s been a great one! We’ve met so many new friends and caught up with some of the old ones. Thank you to everyone for your support. A special thanks to our families for all the help and to the friends we met along the road trip here: Casey, Jon & Megan…..and of course to Ismael without whom we would’ve been homeless for our first 2 weeks here. Most importantly we are thankful to God for making it all happen and getting us settled in to our new life. Oh yeah…and thank you to the Best Westerns that hosted us on the way here…we really enjoyed our waffle breakfasts. Amigos, es oficial. Hemos estado aquí un año ENTERO y ha sido uno espectacular! Hemos conocido a muchos amigos nuevos y nos hemos visto con unos cuantos viejos amigos. Gracias a todos por su apoyo. Gracias especialmente a nuestras familias por toda su ayuda y también a los amigos que se vieron con nosotros en el camino: Casey, Jon y Megan…..y claro Ismael que nos dejó quedarnos en su casa por dos semanas cuando recién llegamos. Y más que nada estamos super agradecidos con Dios por permitir que todo saliera bien. Ah si….muchas gracias a los Best Westerns que nos hospedaron en el camino….de verdad disfrutamos los desayunos wafleros.
We began our trip in Costa Mesa, CA on March 21, 2011 and drove our 15′ budget truck all the way to good ole New York City. Ok…Nick did the driving and it was Jersey City, but close enough. We arrived on March 27, 2011 and stayed with a friend while we searched for an apartment and put all our stuff in storage. Along the way we stopped in Kingman and Flagstaff AZ, Albuquerque NM, Amarillo TX, Oklahoma City OK, Little Rock AR, Nashville TN, Knoxville TN, and Charlottesville VA amongst other spots before we got to our destination. We took pictures at every state line we passed, stopped at a state liquor store in Arkansas where we met a man that offered us weed to make our drive easier and also had the tiniest beer I’ve ever had, attempted to go see the biggest meteor crater in the US..or something like that(which turned out to be dumb and we didn’t want to pay), went to Thomas Jefferson’s home, had a tour of the University of Virginia, did a little wine tasting, visited friends, had subs every day of the trip, realized we never want to go to New Mexico again, and we added Oklahoma City to that list as well. We had such an amazing, tiring, wonderful and long trip that we will never forget. Hopefully. And we are glad we are here, in New York City, waiting to see what the Lord has planned for us for this next year. Happy anniversary New York City. We have fallen a little bit in love with you. Just a little. Empezamos nuestro viaje en Costa Mesa, CA el 21 de marzo del 2011 y manejamos nuestro camión budget de 15 pies hasta llegar a Nueva York. Ok…Nick manejó todo el camino y llegamos a Jesey city, pero no importa. Llegamos el 27 de marzo del 2011 y llegamos a quedarnos con un amigo mientras buscabamos un departamento y almacenamos todas nuestras cosas. En el camino paramos en Kingman y Flagstaff AZ, Albuquerque NM, Amarillo TX, Oklahoma City OK, Little Rock AR, Nashville TN, Knoxville TN, y Charlottesville VA entre otros lugares en camino a nuestro destino. Nos tomamos fotos en cada estado que pasamos, paramos en una licorería del estado de Arkansas donde conocimos a un viejito que nos ofreció mota para que se nos hiciera más divertida la manjeada y me tome la cerveza más pequeñita de mi vida, tratamos de ver el cráter más grande del país…o algo así (que resulto ser una tontada y no quisimos pagar), fuimos a la casa de Thomas Jefferson, visitamos la universidad de Virginia, probamos unos vinitos ricos, visitamos a amiguitos, comimos tortas todos los días del viaje, nos dimos cuenta que nunca queremos vovler a ir a Nuevo México, y agregamos a Oklahoma City a esa lista. Fue el viaje más divertido, cansado, increíble y largo de nuestras vidas y nunca lo vamos a olvidar. Bueno, eso espero. Y estamos muy contentos de estar aquí, en la ciudad de Nueva York, esperando a ver que nos tiene preparado Dios para el próximo año. Feliz aniversario Nueva York. Nos hemos enamorado un poquito de ti. Solo un poquito.
P.S. That little thing you see with us in all the pictures is none other than Ellen Degeneres’ head. Hey….we had to do something to entertain ourselves in this loooong journey! P.D. Lo que ven que sale en todas las fotos con nosotros es la cara de Ellen Degeneres. Hey! algo teníamos que hacer para entretenernos en este viaje tan laaaargo!

Happy Monday! The last couple of weeks have been delightful…in weather of course. Spring officially arrived and guess what? It actually looks like spring! We’ve taken a leisure walk every chance we’ve had, even if it’s been a quick one. This time last year we were on our way to NYC and when we got here it was still in winter mode. This year, trees and flowers have started to bloom and the grass is looking greener every day at central park. It really does make a difference in your daily existence. At least in my opinion. I walk around like a googly eyed tourist just looking at the cute little flowers everywhere. Hope you’ve been enjoying your springtime as well. Have a lovely week! Feliz lunes! Las últimas semanitas han sido un deleite…con el clima claro. La primavera ha llegado oficialmente y que creen? Verdaderamente parece primavera! Hemos salido a caminar cada oportunidad que tenemos, aunque sea una caminadita rapidita. El año pasado en estos días veníamos en camino a NYC y cuando llegamos aquí seguía el invierno. Este año los arbolitos y las flores ya empezaron a brotar y el pasto en central park se ve más verde cada día. De verdad este clima hace una gran diferencia en la vida diaria…por lo menos en la mía. Salgo a caminar y parezco turista volteando a todos lados a ver las florecitas. Espero que ustedes esten disfrutando de su primavera también. Que tengan una bonita semana!

Last week I visited my parents for a couple of days and though I love to see them and in a way I will always consider that my home; I do love coming back to my actual home even more. I’m grateful I that I did get to see a couple of friends I hadn’t seen in a long time…and also I got my fill of babies for the rest of the year! Happy wednesday! La semana pasada visité a mis papás un par de días y aunque me encanta verlos y en alguna manera esa siempre será mi casa; en realidad me fascina regresar a mi casita verdadera mucho más! También me dió mucho gusto de ver a unas cuantas amiguitas que tenía mucho tiempo sin ver….y claro ví a suficientes bebés para aguantar el resto del año! Feliz miércoles!
Hmmm…now that I look at these it seems that all I did all weekend was eat and visit with babies. Ahora que veo estas fotitos, parece ser que lo único que hice en mi visita fue comer y verme con bebés.

Ok, so it wasn’t a weekend, it was Tuesday thru Thursday….but it really felt like the weekend. We had such a lovely time in Vermont and were reminded of our honeymoon while we drove around the snow covered towns. I love visiting new places, don’t you?!
Ok ya se que no fue el fin, sino martes a jueves….pero en realidad sentimos que era el fin de semana. Nos la pasamos increíble en Vermont y nos acordamos muchísimo de nuestra luna de miel mientras pasamos por todos los pueblitos llenos de nieve. Me encanta visitar lugares nuevos, a ustedes no?
